Good Morning!

Psalms 1
1 Oh, the joys of those who do not follow the advice of the wicked, or stand around with sinners, or join in with scoffers.
2 But they delight in doing everything the Lord wants; day and night they think about his law.
3 They are like trees planted along the riverbank, bearing fruit each season without fail. Their leaves never wither, and in all they do, they prosper.
4 But this is not true of the wicked. They are like worthless chaff, scattered by the wind.
5 They will be condemned at the time of judgment. Sinners will have no place among the godly.
6 For the Lord watches over the path of the godly, but the path of the wicked leads to destruction.

Christianity is not a set of rules you follow to make you closer to God, it is based on a relationship with the Living God. Relationship always comes first and is most important. Once a relationship is developed with Christ, service will follow. Once we are in service to our God, then we also walk in obedience. The very essence of Christianity is relationship. Without relationship, you cannot know or understand the message of Christ to this world. Jesus Christ did not come to make us obey the law, He came to fulfill the law and thereby make us right with God. It takes faith to believe that salvation is free and does not require anything of us except to believe. But without faith, there is no relationship, there is no salvation. Once we are made right with God, service for Him is a result of that relationship. We want to obey Him because of His love for us. And once we have a relationship with God, He gives us the power and desire to live in obedience to Him. This is the key to true fulfillment and true joy and peace. Peace that can only come through knowing Christ Jesus.
