5 And afterward Moses and Aaron went in, and told Pharaoh, Thus saith the Lord God of Israel, Let my people go, that they may hold a feast unto me in the wilderness.
2 And Pharaoh said, Who is the Lord, that I should obey his voice to let Israel go? I know not the Lord, neither will I let Israel go.
3 And they said, The God of the Hebrews hath met with us: let us go, we pray thee, three days' journey into the desert, and sacrifice unto the Lord our God; lest he fall upon us with pestilence, or with the sword.
4 And the king of Egypt said unto them, Wherefore do ye, Moses and Aaron, let the people from their works? get you unto your burdens.
5 And Pharaoh said, Behold, the people of the land now are many, and ye make them rest from their burdens.
6 And Pharaoh commanded the same day the taskmasters of the people, and their officers, saying,
7 Ye shall no more give the people straw to make brick, as heretofore: let them go and gather straw for themselves.
8 And the tale of the bricks, which they did make heretofore, ye shall lay upon them; ye shall not diminish ought thereof: for they be idle; therefore they cry, saying, Let us go and sacrifice to our God.
9 Let there more work be laid upon the men, that they may labour therein; and let them not regard vain words.
10 And the taskmasters of the people went out, and their officers, and they spake to the people, saying, Thus saith Pharaoh, I will not give you straw.
11 Go ye, get you straw where ye can find it: yet not ought of your work shall be diminished.
12 So the people were scattered abroad throughout all the land of Egypt to gather stubble instead of straw.
13 And the taskmasters hasted them, saying, Fulfil your works, your daily tasks, as when there was straw.
14 And the officers of the children of Israel, which Pharaoh's taskmasters had set over them, were beaten, and demanded, Wherefore have ye not fulfilled your task in making brick both yesterday and to day, as heretofore?
15 Then the officers of the children of Israel came and cried unto Pharaoh, saying, Wherefore dealest thou thus with thy servants?
16 There is no straw given unto thy servants, and they say to us, Make brick: and, behold, thy servants are beaten; but the fault is in thine own people.
17 But he said, Ye are idle, ye are idle: therefore ye say, Let us go and do sacrifice to the Lord.
18 Go therefore now, and work; for there shall no straw be given you, yet shall ye deliver the tale of bricks.
19 And the officers of the children of Israel did see that they were in evil case, after it was said, Ye shall not minish ought from your bricks of your daily task.
20 And they met Moses and Aaron, who stood in the way, as they came forth from Pharaoh:
21 And they said unto them, The Lord look upon you, and judge; because ye have made our savour to be abhorred in the eyes of Pharaoh, and in the eyes of his servants, to put a sword in their hand to slay us.
22 And Moses returned unto the Lord, and said, Lord, wherefore hast thou so evil entreated this people? why is it that thou hast sent me?
23 For since I came to Pharaoh to speak in thy name, he hath done evil to this people; neither hast thou delivered thy people at all.
6 Then the Lord said unto Moses, Now shalt thou see what I will do to Pharaoh: for with a strong hand shall he let them go, and with a strong hand shall he drive them out of his land.
2 And God spake unto Moses, and said unto him, I am the Lord:
3 And I appeared unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob, by the name of God Almighty, but by my name Jehovah was I not known to them.
4 And I have also established my covenant with them, to give them the land of Canaan, the land of their pilgrimage, wherein they were strangers.
5 And I have also heard the groaning of the children of Israel, whom the Egyptians keep in bondage; and I have remembered my covenant.
6 Wherefore say unto the children of Israel, I am the Lord, and I will bring you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians, and I will rid you out of their bondage, and I will redeem you with a stretched out arm, and with great judgments:
7 And I will take you to me for a people, and I will be to you a God: and ye shall know that I am the Lord your God, which bringeth you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians.
8 And I will bring you in unto the land, concerning the which I did swear to give it to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob; and I will give it you for an heritage: I am the Lord.
9 And Moses spake so unto the children of Israel: but they hearkened not unto Moses for anguish of spirit, and for cruel bondage.
10 And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,
11 Go in, speak unto Pharaoh king of Egypt, that he let the children of Israel go out of his land.
12 And Moses spake before the Lord, saying, Behold, the children of Israel have not hearkened unto me; how then shall Pharaoh hear me, who am of uncircumcised lips?
13 And the Lord spake unto Moses and unto Aaron, and gave them a charge unto the children of Israel, and unto Pharaoh king of Egypt, to bring the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt.
14 These be the heads of their fathers' houses: The sons of Reuben the firstborn of Israel; Hanoch, and Pallu, Hezron, and Carmi: these be the families of Reuben.
15 And the sons of Simeon; Jemuel, and Jamin, and Ohad, and Jachin, and Zohar, and Shaul the son of a Canaanitish woman: these are the families of Simeon.
16 And these are the names of the sons of Levi according to their generations; Gershon, and Kohath, and Merari: and the years of the life of Levi were an hundred thirty and seven years.
17 The sons of Gershon; Libni, and Shimi, according to their families.
18 And the sons of Kohath; Amram, and Izhar, and Hebron, and Uzziel: and the years of the life of Kohath were an hundred thirty and three years.
19 And the sons of Merari; Mahali and Mushi: these are the families of Levi according to their generations.
20 And Amram took him Jochebed his father's sister to wife; and she bare him Aaron and Moses: and the years of the life of Amram were an hundred and thirty and seven years.
21 And the sons of Izhar; Korah, and Nepheg, and Zichri.
22 And the sons of Uzziel; Mishael, and Elzaphan, and Zithri.
23 And Aaron took him Elisheba, daughter of Amminadab, sister of Naashon, to wife; and she bare him Nadab, and Abihu, Eleazar, and Ithamar.
24 And the sons of Korah; Assir, and Elkanah, and Abiasaph: these are the families of the Korhites.
25 And Eleazar Aaron's son took him one of the daughters of Putiel to wife; and she bare him Phinehas: these are the heads of the fathers of the Levites according to their families.
26 These are that Aaron and Moses, to whom the Lord said, Bring out the children of Israel from the land of Egypt according to their armies.
27 These are they which spake to Pharaoh king of Egypt, to bring out the children of Israel from Egypt: these are that Moses and Aaron.
28 And it came to pass on the day when the Lord spake unto Moses in the land of Egypt,
29 That the Lord spake unto Moses, saying, I am the Lord: speak thou unto Pharaoh king of Egypt all that I say unto thee.
30 And Moses said before the Lord, Behold, I am of uncircumcised lips, and how shall Pharaoh hearken unto me?

Moisés y Aarón ante Faraón
5 Después Moisés y Aarón entraron a la presencia de Faraón y le dijeron: Jehová el Dios de Israel dice así: Deja ir a mi pueblo a celebrarme fiesta en el desierto. 2 Y Faraón respondió: ¿Quién es Jehová, para que yo oiga su voz y deje ir a Israel? Yo no conozco a Jehová, ni tampoco dejaré ir a Israel. 3 Y ellos dijeron: El Dios de los hebreos nos ha encontrado; iremos, pues, ahora, camino de tres días por el desierto, y ofreceremos sacrificios a Jehová nuestro Dios, para que no venga sobre nosotros con peste o con espada. 4 Entonces el rey de Egipto les dijo: Moisés y Aarón, ¿por qué hacéis cesar al pueblo de su trabajo? Volved a vuestras tareas. 5 Dijo también Faraón: He aquí el pueblo de la tierra es ahora mucho, y vosotros les hacéis cesar de sus tareas. 6 Y mandó Faraón aquel mismo día a los cuadrilleros del pueblo que lo tenían a su cargo, y a sus capataces, diciendo: 7 De aquí en adelante no daréis paja al pueblo para hacer ladrillo, como hasta ahora; vayan ellos y recojan por sí mismos la paja. 8 Y les impondréis la misma tarea de ladrillo que hacían antes, y no les disminuiréis nada; porque están ociosos, por eso levantan la voz diciendo: Vamos y ofrezcamos sacrificios a nuestro Dios. 9 Agrávese la servidumbre sobre ellos, para que se ocupen en ella, y no atiendan a palabras mentirosas.
10 Y saliendo los cuadrilleros del pueblo y sus capataces, hablaron al pueblo, diciendo: Así ha dicho Faraón: Yo no os doy paja. 11 Id vosotros y recoged la paja donde la halléis; pero nada se disminuirá de vuestra tarea. 12 Entonces el pueblo se esparció por toda la tierra de Egipto para recoger rastrojo en lugar de paja. 13 Y los cuadrilleros los apremiaban, diciendo: Acabad vuestra obra, la tarea de cada día en su día, como cuando se os daba paja. 14 Y azotaban a los capataces de los hijos de Israel que los cuadrilleros de Faraón habían puesto sobre ellos, diciendo: ¿Por qué no habéis cumplido vuestra tarea de ladrillo ni ayer ni hoy, como antes?
15 Y los capataces de los hijos de Israel vinieron a Faraón y se quejaron a él, diciendo: ¿Por qué lo haces así con tus siervos? 16 No se da paja a tus siervos, y con todo nos dicen: Haced el ladrillo. Y he aquí tus siervos son azotados, y el pueblo tuyo es el culpable. 17 Y él respondió: Estáis ociosos, sí, ociosos, y por eso decís: Vamos y ofrezcamos sacrificios a Jehová. 18 Id pues, ahora, y trabajad. No se os dará paja, y habéis de entregar la misma tarea de ladrillo. 19 Entonces los capataces de los hijos de Israel se vieron en aflicción, al decírseles: No se disminuirá nada de vuestro ladrillo, de la tarea de cada día. 20 Y encontrando a Moisés y a Aarón, que estaban a la vista de ellos cuando salían de la presencia de Faraón, 21 les dijeron: Mire Jehová sobre vosotros, y juzgue; pues nos habéis hecho abominables delante de Faraón y de sus siervos, poniéndoles la espada en la mano para que nos maten.
Jehová comisiona a Moisés y a Aarón
22 Entonces Moisés se volvió a Jehová, y dijo: Señor, ¿por qué afliges a este pueblo? ¿Para qué me enviaste? 23 Porque desde que yo vine a Faraón para hablarle en tu nombre, ha afligido a este pueblo; y tú no has librado a tu pueblo.
6 Jehová respondió a Moisés: Ahora verás lo que yo haré a Faraón; porque con mano fuerte los dejará ir, y con mano fuerte los echará de su tierra. 2 Habló todavía Dios a Moisés, y le dijo: Yo soy JEHOVÁ. 3 Y aparecí a Abraham, a Isaac y a Jacob como Dios Omnipotente, mas en mi nombre JEHOVÁ no me di a conocer a ellos. 4 También establecí mi pacto con ellos, de darles la tierra de Canaán, la tierra en que fueron forasteros, y en la cual habitaron. 5 Asimismo yo he oído el gemido de los hijos de Israel, a quienes hacen servir los egipcios, y me he acordado de mi pacto. 6 Por tanto, dirás a los hijos de Israel: Yo soy JEHOVÁ; y yo os sacaré de debajo de las tareas pesadas de Egipto, y os libraré de su servidumbre, y os redimiré con brazo extendido, y con juicios grandes; 7 y os tomaré por mi pueblo y seré vuestro Dios; y vosotros sabréis que yo soy Jehová vuestro Dios, que os sacó de debajo de las tareas pesadas de Egipto. 8 Y os meteré en la tierra por la cual alcé mi mano jurando que la daría a Abraham, a Isaac y a Jacob; y yo os la daré por heredad. Yo JEHOVÁ.
9 De esta manera habló Moisés a los hijos de Israel; pero ellos no escuchaban a Moisés a causa de la congoja de espíritu, y de la dura servidumbre. 10 Y habló Jehová a Moisés, diciendo: 11 Entra y habla a Faraón rey de Egipto, que deje ir de su tierra a los hijos de Israel. 12 Y respondió Moisés delante de Jehová: He aquí, los hijos de Israel no me escuchan; ¿cómo, pues, me escuchará Faraón, siendo yo torpe de labios? 13 Entonces Jehová habló a Moisés y a Aarón y les dio mandamiento para los hijos de Israel, y para Faraón rey de Egipto, para que sacasen a los hijos de Israel de la tierra de Egipto.
14 Estos son los jefes de las familias de sus padres: Los hijos de Rubén, el primogénito de Israel: Hanoc, Falú, Hezrón y Carmi; estas son las familias de Rubén. 15 Los hijos de Simeón: Jemuel, Jamín, Ohad, Jaquín, Zohar, y Saúl hijo de una cananea. Estas son las familias de Simeón. 16 Estos son los nombres de los hijos de Leví por sus linajes: Gersón, Coat y Merari. Y los años de la vida de Leví fueron ciento treinta y siete años. 17 Los hijos de Gersón: Libni y Simei, por sus familias. 18 Y los hijos de Coat: Amram, Izhar, Hebrón y Uziel. Y los años de la vida de Coat fueron ciento treinta y tres años. 19 Y los hijos de Merari: Mahli y Musi. Estas son las familias de Leví por sus linajes. 20 Y Amram tomó por mujer a Jocabed su tía, la cual dio a luz a Aarón y a Moisés. Y los años de la vida de Amram fueron ciento treinta y siete años. 21 Los hijos de Izhar: Coré, Nefeg y Zicri. 22 Y los hijos de Uziel: Misael, Elzafán y Sitri. 23 Y tomó Aarón por mujer a Elisabet hija de Aminadab, hermana de Naasón; la cual dio a luz a Nadab, Abiú, Eleazar e Itamar. 24 Los hijos de Coré: Asir, Elcana y Abiasaf. Estas son las familias de los coreítas. 25 Y Eleazar hijo de Aarón tomó para sí mujer de las hijas de Futiel, la cual dio a luz a Finees. Y estos son los jefes de los padres de los levitas por sus familias.
26 Este es aquel Aarón y aquel Moisés, a los cuales Jehová dijo: Sacad a los hijos de Israel de la tierra de Egipto por sus ejércitos. 27 Estos son los que hablaron a Faraón rey de Egipto, para sacar de Egipto a los hijos de Israel. Moisés y Aarón fueron estos.
28 Cuando Jehová habló a Moisés en la tierra de Egipto, 29 entonces Jehová habló a Moisés, diciendo: Yo soy JEHOVÁ; di a Faraón rey de Egipto todas las cosas que yo te digo a ti. 30 Y Moisés respondió delante de Jehová: He aquí, yo soy torpe de labios; ¿cómo, pues, me ha de oír Faraón?
