Leviticus 20-21

20 And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,

2 Again, thou shalt say to the children of Israel, Whosoever he be of the children of Israel, or of the strangers that sojourn in Israel, that giveth any of his seed unto Molech; he shall surely be put to death: the people of the land shall stone him with stones.

3 And I will set my face against that man, and will cut him off from among his people; because he hath given of his seed unto Molech, to defile my sanctuary, and to profane my holy name.

4 And if the people of the land do any ways hide their eyes from the man, when he giveth of his seed unto Molech, and kill him not:

5 Then I will set my face against that man, and against his family, and will cut him off, and all that go a whoring after him, to commit *****dom with Molech, from among their people.

6 And the soul that turneth after such as have familiar spirits, and after wizards, to go a whoring after them, I will even set my face against that soul, and will cut him off from among his people.

7 Sanctify yourselves therefore, and be ye holy: for I am the Lord your God.

8 And ye shall keep my statutes, and do them: I am the Lord which sanctify you.

9 For every one that curseth his father or his mother shall be surely put to death: he hath cursed his father or his mother; his blood shall be upon him.

10 And the man that committeth adultery with another man's wife, even he that committeth adultery with his neighbour's wife, the adulterer and the adulteress shall surely be put to death.

11 And the man that lieth with his father's wife hath uncovered his father's nakedness: both of them shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.

12 And if a man lie with his daughter in law, both of them shall surely be put to death: they have wrought confusion; their blood shall be upon them.

13 If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.

14 And if a man take a wife and her mother, it is wickedness: they shall be burnt with fire, both he and they; that there be no wickedness among you.

15 And if a man lie with a beast, he shall surely be put to death: and ye shall slay the beast.

16 And if a woman approach unto any beast, and lie down thereto, thou shalt kill the woman, and the beast: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.

17 And if a man shall take his sister, his father's daughter, or his mother's daughter, and see her nakedness, and she see his nakedness; it is a wicked thing; and they shall be cut off in the sight of their people: he hath uncovered his sister's nakedness; he shall bear his iniquity.

18 And if a man shall lie with a woman having her sickness, and shall uncover her nakedness; he hath discovered her fountain, and she hath uncovered the fountain of her blood: and both of them shall be cut off from among their people.

19 And thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy mother's sister, nor of thy father's sister: for he uncovereth his near kin: they shall bear their iniquity.

20 And if a man shall lie with his uncle's wife, he hath uncovered his uncle's nakedness: they shall bear their sin; they shall die childless.

21 And if a man shall take his brother's wife, it is an unclean thing: he hath uncovered his brother's nakedness; they shall be childless.

22 Ye shall therefore keep all my statutes, and all my judgments, and do them: that the land, whither I bring you to dwell therein, spue you not out.

23 And ye shall not walk in the manners of the nation, which I cast out before you: for they committed all these things, and therefore I abhorred them.

24 But I have said unto you, Ye shall inherit their land, and I will give it unto you to possess it, a land that floweth with milk and honey: I am the Lord your God, which have separated you from other people.

25 Ye shall therefore put difference between clean beasts and unclean, and between unclean fowls and clean: and ye shall not make your souls abominable by beast, or by fowl, or by any manner of living thing that creepeth on the ground, which I have separated from you as unclean.

26 And ye shall be holy unto me: for I the Lord am holy, and have severed you from other people, that ye should be mine.

27 A man also or woman that hath a familiar spirit, or that is a wizard, shall surely be put to death: they shall stone them with stones: their blood shall be upon them.

21 And the Lord said unto Moses, Speak unto the priests the sons of Aaron, and say unto them, There shall none be defiled for the dead among his people:

2 But for his kin, that is near unto him, that is, for his mother, and for his father, and for his son, and for his daughter, and for his brother.

3 And for his sister a virgin, that is nigh unto him, which hath had no husband; for her may he be defiled.

4 But he shall not defile himself, being a chief man among his people, to profane himself.

5 They shall not make baldness upon their head, neither shall they shave off the corner of their beard, nor make any cuttings in their flesh.

6 They shall be holy unto their God, and not profane the name of their God: for the offerings of the Lord made by fire, and the bread of their God, they do offer: therefore they shall be holy.

7 They shall not take a wife that is a *****, or profane; neither shall they take a woman put away from her husband: for he is holy unto his God.

8 Thou shalt sanctify him therefore; for he offereth the bread of thy God: he shall be holy unto thee: for I the Lord, which sanctify you, am holy.

9 And the daughter of any priest, if she profane herself by playing the *****, she profaneth her father: she shall be burnt with fire.

10 And he that is the high priest among his brethren, upon whose head the anointing oil was poured, and that is consecrated to put on the garments, shall not uncover his head, nor rend his clothes;

11 Neither shall he go in to any dead body, nor defile himself for his father, or for his mother;

12 Neither shall he go out of the sanctuary, nor profane the sanctuary of his God; for the crown of the anointing oil of his God is upon him: I am the Lord.

13 And he shall take a wife in her virginity.

14 A widow, or a divorced woman, or profane, or an harlot, these shall he not take: but he shall take a virgin of his own people to wife.

15 Neither shall he profane his seed among his people: for I the Lord do sanctify him.

16 And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,

17 Speak unto Aaron, saying, Whosoever he be of thy seed in their generations that hath any blemish, let him not approach to offer the bread of his God.

18 For whatsoever man he be that hath a blemish, he shall not approach: a blind man, or a lame, or he that hath a flat nose, or any thing superfluous,

19 Or a man that is brokenfooted, or brokenhanded,

20 Or crookbackt, or a dwarf, or that hath a blemish in his eye, or be scurvy, or scabbed, or hath his stones broken;

21 No man that hath a blemish of the seed of Aaron the priest shall come nigh to offer the offerings of the Lord made by fire: he hath a blemish; he shall not come nigh to offer the bread of his God.

22 He shall eat the bread of his God, both of the most holy, and of the holy.

23 Only he shall not go in unto the vail, nor come nigh unto the altar, because he hath a blemish; that he profane not my sanctuaries: for I the Lord do sanctify them.

24 And Moses told it unto Aaron, and to his sons, and unto all the children of Israel.

Penas contra la inmoralidad

20 El SEÑOR habló a Moisés diciendo: 2 “Di también a los hijos de Israel que cualquier persona de los hijos de Israel, o de los extranjeros que residen en medio de Israel, que ofrezca alguno de sus descendientes a Moloc, morirá irremisiblemente. El pueblo de la tierra lo apedreará. 3 Yo mostraré mi ira contra tal persona y la excluiré de entre su pueblo, porque ofreció alguno de sus descendientes a Moloc, contaminando mi santuario y profanando mi santo nombre. 4 Si el pueblo de la tierra cierra sus ojos ante la persona que ofreció alguno de sus descendientes a Moloc, a fin de no hacerlo morir, 5 yo mostraré mi ira contra esa persona y contra su familia, y la excluiré de entre su pueblo, junto con todos los que se prostituyeron en pos de ella prostituyéndose con Moloc.

6 “Si una persona recurre a los que evocan a los muertos y a los adivinos para prostituirse tras ellos, yo mostraré mi ira contra tal persona y la excluiré de entre su pueblo.

7 “Santifíquense, pues, y sean santos, porque yo, el SEÑOR, soy su Dios. 8 Guarden y practiquen mis estatutos. Yo, el SEÑOR, que los santifico.

9 “Cuando alguna persona maldiga a su padre o a su madre, morirá irremisiblemente. Ha maldecido a su padre o a su madre; su sangre será sobre ella.

10 “Si un hombre comete adulterio con una mujer casada, si comete adulterio con la mujer de su prójimo, el adúltero y la adúltera morirán irremisiblemente.

11 “Si un hombre se acuesta con la mujer de su padre, descubre la desnudez de su padre. Ambos morirán irremisiblemente; su sangre será sobre ellos. 12 “Si un hombre se acuesta con su nuera, ambos morirán irremisiblemente, pues cometieron depravación; su sangre será sobre ellos.

13 “Si un hombre se acuesta con un hombre, como se acuesta con una mujer, los dos cometen una abominación. Ambos morirán irremisiblemente; su sangre será sobre ellos.

14 “El que tome como esposas a una mujer y también a la madre de ella comete una infamia: Quemarán en el fuego a él y a ellas, para que no haya infamia entre ustedes.

15 “Si alguno tiene cópula con un animal, morirá irremisiblemente. Mataréis también al animal.

16 “Si una mujer se acerca a algún animal para tener cópula con él, matarás a la mujer y al animal. Morirán irremisiblemente; su sangre será sobre ellos.

17 “Si un hombre toma a su hermana, hija de su padre o hija de su madre, y él ve la desnudez de ella, y ella ve la de él, es cosa abominable. Por tanto, serán excluidos a la vista de los hijos de su pueblo. Ha descubierto la desnudez de su hermana; él cargará con su culpa.

18 “Si un hombre se acuesta con una mujer menstruosa y descubre su desnudez, descubre la fuente de ella, y ella pone al descubierto la fuente de su sangre. Ambos serán excluidos de entre su pueblo.

19 “No descubrirás la desnudez de la hermana de tu madre ni la de la hermana de tu padre, porque sería desnudar a tu parienta cercana. Ambos cargarán con su culpa.

20 “Si un hombre se acuesta con su tía, descubre la desnudez de su tío. Ellos cargarán con su pecado; morirán sin tener hijos.

21 “Si un hombre toma a la mujer de su hermano, comete una inmundicia. Él descubre la desnudez de su hermano; ambos quedarán sin tener hijos.

22 “Guarden, pues, todos mis estatutos y todos mis decretos, y pónganlos por obra. Así no los vomitará la tierra a la cual yo los llevo para que habiten en ella. 23 No hagas según las prácticas de la gente que yo voy a echar de delante de ustedes; porque ellos hicieron todas estas cosas, y yo los abominé. 24 Pero a ustedes les he dicho: ‘Ustedes poseerán su tierra, y yo se la daré por posesión: una tierra que fluye leche y miel’. Yo, el SEÑOR, su Dios que los he separado de los pueblos.

25 “Además, ustedes harán diferencia entre el animal limpio y el inmundo, y entre el ave limpia y la inmunda. No se hagan detestables a causa de los animales ni de las aves ni de cualquier cosa que se desplaza sobre la tierra, y que yo he separado para que les sean inmundos. 26 Me serán santos, porque yo, el SEÑOR, soy santo y los he separado de los pueblos para que sean míos.

27 “El hombre o la mujer en quien haya espíritu de los muertos o que sea adivino morirá irremisiblemente. Los apedrearán; su sangre será sobre ellos”.

La santidad de los sacerdotes

21 El SEÑOR dijo a Moisés: “Habla a los sacerdotes, hijos de Aarón, y diles que no se contaminen a causa de algún difunto de su pueblo, 2 salvo que sea un pariente cercano como su madre, su padre, su hijo, su hija, su hermano, 3 o su hermana virgen que esté cerca de él y que no haya tenido marido. Por ella él puede contaminarse. 4 No se contaminará profanándose, pues es dirigente en medio de su pueblo. 5 No raparán su cabeza ni cortarán la punta de su barba ni harán incisiones en su cuerpo. 6 Serán santos para su Dios y no profanarán el nombre de su Dios; porque ellos presentarán las ofrendas quemadas, el pan de su Dios; por tanto, serán santos.

7 “El sacerdote no tomará mujer prostituta o privada de su virginidad. Tampoco tomará mujer divorciada de su marido, porque él está consagrado a su Dios. 8 Por tanto, lo tendrás por santo, pues él ofrece el pan de tu Dios. Será santo para ti, porque santo soy yo, el SEÑOR, que los santifico.

9 “Si la hija de un sacerdote se profana prostituyéndose, a su padre profana. Será quemada al fuego.

10 “El que de entre sus hermanos sea sumo sacerdote, sobre cuya cabeza se haya derramado el aceite de la unción y haya sido investido para llevar las vestiduras, no dejará suelto el cabello de su cabeza, ni rasgará sus vestiduras, 11 ni entrará donde haya algún difunto. Ni por su padre, ni por su madre se contaminará. 12 No saldrá del santuario ni profanará el santuario de su Dios, porque sobre él está la consagración del aceite de la unción de su Dios. Yo, el SEÑOR.

13 “Él tomará por esposa a una mujer virgen. 14 No tomará una viuda, ni una divorciada, ni una mujer privada de su virginidad, ni una prostituta. Más bien, tomará por esposa a una mujer virgen de su pueblo. 15 Así no profanará su descendencia en medio de su pueblo; porque yo soy el SEÑOR, el que lo santifico”.

16 El SEÑOR habló a Moisés diciendo: 17 “Habla a Aarón y dile: ‘A través de sus generaciones, ningún descendiente tuyo que tenga algún defecto se acercará para ofrecer el pan de su Dios. 18 Ciertamente ningún hombre que tenga algún defecto se acercará, sea ciego, cojo, mutilado, desproporcionado, 19 quien tenga fractura en el pie o en la mano, 20 jorobado, enano, quien tenga nube en el ojo, quien tenga sarna o tiña, o tenga testículo dañado. 21 Ningún hombre de la descendencia del sacerdote Aarón que tenga algún defecto podrá presentar las ofrendas quemadas al SEÑOR. Tiene defecto; no se acercará a ofrecer el pan de su Dios. 22 Podrá comer del pan de su Dios, de las cosas muy sagradas y de las cosas sagradas; 23 pero no entrará detrás del velo ni se acercará al altar, porque tiene defecto. Así no profanará mi santuario, porque yo soy el SEÑOR, el que los santifico”.

24 Y Moisés se lo dijo a Aarón y a sus hijos, y a todos los hijos de Israel.
