Psalms 1–41

The Way of the Righteous and the End of the Ungodly

1 Blessed is the man
Who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly,
Nor stands in the path of sinners,
Nor sits in the seat of the scornful;
2 But his delight is in the law of the Lord,
And in His law he meditates day and night.
3 He shall be like a tree
Planted by the rivers of water,
That brings forth its fruit in its season,
Whose leaf also shall not wither;
And whatever he does shall prosper.
4 The ungodly are not so,
But are like the chaff which the wind drives away.
5 Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment,
Nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.
6 For the Lord knows the way of the righteous,
But the way of the ungodly shall perish.

El justo y los pecadores

1 Bienaventurado el hombre que
no anda según el consejo de los impíos ni se detiene en el camino de los pecadores
ni se sienta en la silla de los burladores.
2 Más bien, en la ley del SEÑOR está su delicia,
y en ella medita de día y de noche.
3 Será como un árbol
plantado junto a corrientes de aguas que da su fruto a su tiempo
y su hoja no cae.
Todo lo que hace prosperará.
4 No sucede así con los impíos, que son como el tamo que arrebata
el viento.
5 Por tanto, no se levantarán los impíos en el juicio
ni los pecadores en la congregación
de los justos.
6 Porque el SEÑOR conoce el camino de los justos,
pero el camino de los impíos perecerá.
