Psalm 62

A Calm Resolve to Wait for the Salvation of God

To the Chief Musician. To Jeduthun. A Psalm of David.

62 Truly my soul silently waits for God;
From Him comes my salvation.
2 He only is my rock and my salvation;
He is my defense;
I shall not be greatly moved.
3 How long will you attack a man?
You shall be slain, all of you,
Like a leaning wall and a tottering fence.
4 They only consult to cast him down from his high position;
They delight in lies;
They bless with their mouth,
But they curse inwardly. Selah
5 My soul, wait silently for God alone,
For my expectation is from Him.
6 He only is my rock and my salvation;
He is my defense;
I shall not be moved.
7 In God is my salvation and my glory;
The rock of my strength,
And my refuge, is in God.
8 Trust in Him at all times, you people;
Pour out your heart before Him;
God is a refuge for us. Selah
9 Surely men of low degree are a vapor,
Men of high degree are a lie;
If they are weighed on the scales,
They are altogether lighter than vapor.
10 Do not trust in oppression,
Nor vainly hope in robbery;
If riches increase,
Do not set your heart on them.
11 God has spoken once,
Twice I have heard this:
That power belongs to God.
12 Also to You, O Lord, belongs mercy;
For You render to each one according to his work.

Dios, el único refugio

62 Al músico principal. A Jedutún. Salmo de David.

Solo en Dios reposa mi alma;
de él proviene mi salvación.
2 Solo él es mi roca y mi salvación;
él es mi refugio;
no seré grandemente movido.
3 ¿Hasta cuándo se ensañarán contra
un hombre?
¿Lo destrozarán todos ustedes como
a una pared inclinada o una cerca derribada?
4 Solamente consultan cómo derribarlo de su eminencia.
Se complacen con la mentira.
Con su boca bendicen
pero en su interior maldicen. Selah
5 Oh alma mía, reposa solo en Dios porque de él es mi esperanza.
6 Solo él es mi roca y mi salvación;
es mi alto refugio; no seré movido.
7 Dios es mi salvación y mi gloria;
en Dios está la roca de mi fortaleza y mi refugio.
8 Oh pueblos, esperen en él en todo tiempo;
derramen delante de él su corazón porque Dios es nuestro refugio. Selah
9 Por cierto, vanidad son los hombres comunes;
mentira son los hombres notables.
Si se los pesa a todos juntos en balanza serán menos que un soplo.
10 No confíen en la opresión
ni se envanezcan con la rapiña. Aunque se incremente la riqueza
no pongan en ella el corazón.
11 Una vez habló Dios;
dos veces he oído esto:
que en Dios hay fortaleza.
12 También en ti, oh Señor,
hay misericordia;
pues tú pagas a cada uno según su obra.
