Happy Easter to you. And to everyone!
As I was looking for a picture for the home page, I was reminded of those poor baby chicks we use to get at Easter, they would have been died pink and blue. Most of mine did end up at my grandmother's farm in Weiser but some didn't fair as well. One year at an Easter egg hunt I won some duck eggs, those also went to my grandmother's and her hens hatched them.
I also remember the Easter egg hunts at Carl Miller park. Some of the eggs contained prizes from the local merchants. Was it the city council or the local merchants organization that would hard boil and dye all those eggs?
I'm not sure either, but I will ask my Mom. By the way, she passes on her wish that I tell you,Iny, and all those who remember her that she loves you.
Back to Easter horrors with ducks; I got each of my Daughters little fluffy ducks one year and was told they were Muskobys? Really question that spelling, any how, they grew to be the meanest things I've ever seen.
They attacked my Dog, me, the mail-man and killed a bunch of domestic ducks by drowning them in their wading pools. I had given them to a sweet retired couple whos yard was sanctuary to the domestics till these evil things came to live there.
Needless to say, they ended up at a pond far, far from
people.
I was told they were a cross between a duck and a goose......Hence, the hissssssssing instead of quacks!
