More Memories

Carolyn, I do remember that experience VERY WELL!! I also remember that during our entire years of growing up--even on into our college days--I always wished I could have had your beauty and your soft, mild personality...I was always too loud.
Rosanna, I don't know if you know this or not, but your brother Eddy was my very first "real date". We were in 7th grade (parents drove) and he took me to a jr. high dance. He arrived with a box of Owyhee Butter Toffee. I kept the box top for years. That candy is still made here in Boise, and I always send it to friends for little appreciation gifts/momentos from Idaho. Every time I see a box of them, I think of Eddy.

Re: More Memories

Betty, that is such a sweet story about my brother and you. Seems like no one has any idea what affect they will have on another, even years later.

I was in California on the 40th anniversary of his death with my Mom. She has kept a suitcase filled with things we packed back in 1966, and it had never been opened!

I was able to bring home precious memories of Eddy.

I don't know if any of you know, but he was quite the mechanic at a very young age. He received gold-plated torque wrenches, micrometers, and three different wrench sets from different mechanics contests he competed in through Chrysler Corporation. I now have them and plan to make a special exhibit of them.

He had also Soloed in an airplane and the shirt he had worn (without the tail)was in that suitcase. Sure wish I had the shirt-tail with his name on it that was tacked up on the wall at the little airport he flew from. oh well

You, Betty, were won of many that I remember as being such a dear sweet friend. Glad to hear from you and thank you for your memories.

Always, Rosanna
