I had the Honour of been detatched to 32bt as a support driver from 16 Maint. Unit, Grootfontein. I was the fuel supply runner for Capt M Geldenhuis. You boys were done unjustly as many of us were.

Did national service in 1988/89 in the intelligence service. I was recruited to join 32 BN after completing JLs in Kimberly and was posted at the Rundu base. With resolution 435 in 1989 we were moved to Pomfret from where we were sent to do patrol duties at Beit bridge, Vembe and the surrounding areas on the kaftan line under the command of Kmdt. Scheepers. The word ELITE is an understatement to describe the unit. There was respect, loyalty, dignity and brotherhood in the unit. The battering ram of the SADF ( 32 BN ) was the first unit to be disbanned when the ANC came in to power, forgetting what the unit has sacriviced to ensure the safety of our people. The scars is still visible from the war, but they healed. The scar left by betrayal from the government however cut the deepest and will never heal. To all the deceased and living members of 32 BN and their families - I Lt. SL du Toit salute you for what you have achieved and your value for life as you have made a difference in mine. I am proud and honoured to have been a part of all you special people. GOD BLESS YOU ALL.

I am trying to find information about my brother in laws elder brother AAS Nulty who was a Seargent in 44, 32 & 33 and lost his life in aroad accident north of Windhoek in 1985. We want to know as much about him as possible as his personal effects and money never made it back to his father in UK. ALSO WAS HE MARRIED AND ARE THERE CHILDREN as a photo of him in Beytenbacks book Buffalo battalion shows him wearinga wedding ring. Assistance appreciated

Col Eddie Viljoen (big daddy) is my fathers cousen,and i\'ve got the upmost respect for Col Jan Breytenbagh.
