Dayton 3s sound harsh

Hi, i built a pair of dayton 3s a while back. they are pretty sweet except they sound harsh.. a sound engineer told me that they have too much of a certain frequency band.. I dont remember the band exactly. Anyway extremely hard on the ears. I dont think others have the problem. Ive triple checked the crossovers and they seem to be ok. I know the tweeters have gone thru several revisions.. and the behave differently......

Any ideas?
Thanks!

Re: Dayton 3s sound harsh

you may have over heated some of the crossover components. Or you may have a bad solder joint. Caps can be damaged by excessive heat changing their value. I use a alligator clip with some wire on it as a heat sink between the solder joint and the cap.
