I was wondering how everyone liked this speaker and if they would be okay for a desk moniter? powered by a onkyo tx-844. This will be my first real speaker building endeavor so i wanted to make sure they would work well in a close listening distance, around 3ft-4ft?

I have built them and they are a medium size speaker. Thought they sounded very nice with a crossover that did not cost a fortune to build. The Peerless CSX driver is going out of production unfortunately so if you don't have them you will want to acquire them. They handle power extremely well so they will last for a long time without a problem. The North Creeks are nice. Not the most articulate tweet but for the price very smooth. You might want a smaller speaker if you are placing them on a desk with you sitting in a chair at the desk.
