D3s set back.

I have a set of D3s I built a while back and would like to move them to my theater room. The room has a faux wall with the projector screen, and I would like to mount the D3s with the baffle flush with this wall. This would give an almost infintely large baffle for the drivers. From the research I have done, and it is not completely clear, but it seems the drivers will not need baffle step compensation as they are acting in a hemisphere. If this is the case, has anyone tested a xo that does not take baffle step into consideration, or that is set for a very large baffle? If my thinkning is off, please point me in the right direction.
