Love the backdrop and choreography, certainly pretty continental late 60s looking. Reminds me of that Dave Clark 5 special from '69 where they did 5 x 5 and all those dancing girls came in.However, Raffaela has already been nabbed as a junkshop / Euro glam classic, so the psychsters can't have her!
In the same devolved funk/proto-disco mould but from a top of the pops episode so sans the budget for a glitzy vid or any dancers seemingly, comes Zenda Jacks (the goddess of love) and 'rub my tummy'. She's a junkshop glam queen too!
it just struck me as quite similar to Shocking Blue's Venus and as Paul has said the video looks more late 60s than 1974. Some psychedelic music did morph into Funk which had a large part to play in Disco.
Sorry Paul, good song, but I just can't look at Zenda without thinking Ronald McDonald in drag! .
I don't think I'd recommend the CD Paul. I've listened to a good few of their songs from their 1st lp on YouTube and they are mostly humorous/jokey songs with a lot of puns based on the Hebrew language. Its lost on me I'm afraid. The lp is fairly cheap too if anyone wants to chance it.
