Re: Ginger Baker RIP

No doubt about it a very innovative drummer and possibly one of the best who featured on some great recordings, I'll not take that away from him!! But as a human being not a very nice character, the things that really matter in life like family and looking after them and showing them love and care, it seems he did neither for his family, he'd rather spend his time looking after horses for his polo, totally ignoring and insulting his offspring, I watched a documentary the other night, they interviewed his wives and particularly his son, also a drummer, they said he was horrible as a husband and father and constant blew his money and was forever skint, and always ran away when ever there was problems. Ginger came over on this documentary as a very selfish individual and pretty unhinged too, damn right nasty and abnoxious. I hate saying this, I wasn't sad he passed, Yeh great drummer but what really matters to me is if someone is a decent human being, on this occasion after reading about him and watching the doc, this doesn't seem to be the case. No mourning or sadness from me!!

Re: Ginger Baker RIP

Yes, Stuart. That was why I also didn't offer condolences. Sad to say, but I'm sure for his family it's a great relief he's dead.

Re: Ginger Baker RIP

Yes, had heard stories but never realised what a bastard he actually was until reading articles after his death.

Re: Ginger Baker RIP

Having watched the BBC documentary I have to agree with Stuart. Not a massive fan of the bands he was associated with but here is a clip of him and Graham Bond doing some cool beat stuff. Hope you enjoy. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JpJUFnYTHlc
