Who exactly did the artwork for the colourful butterfly album cover for the Kinks Face To Face. It's one of my favorite and I can't find who the artist was.

"Cover art was conceived and designed by Ray Davies but apparently executed by a member of Pye Records’ art department."

My Kinks pal Robb gave me the answer he seems to have all the answers about the Kinks

Wait really? Cause Ray Davies said he hated that cover, and wanted the album cover to be black with eh groups name on it. Does anyone know who the actual artist was that drew it?

Well if Ray designed it then passed it on to the art department to draw it up..finding who worked in the Art Dept at that time would be like looking for a needle in a haystack.
I googled Pye Art Department but no definite hits..

So I looked it up, Ray definitely DID NOT design that album cover. It's clear in the liner notes from the reissue that he hated it and thought it should be a black album cover with the band's name on it. It's too bad they didn't credit the artist on the album.
