Hi Rob,

Thank you for the very helpful informations you share with amateurs.

My name is Christian Novel and i just bought a Norton 16 H in Paris with French registration paper ( carte grise). I\'m actually rebuilding it. It\'s supposed being sold by the French Norton dealer Clément Garreau after the ww2. In fact Clément Garreau bought lots of 16H and Big 4 from the army and sold them after being civilised.

Frame number on middle of front frame down tube : 3044-49 this one is on registration paper. It is also engraved HS 3044-49 on front tube near the engine.

Numbers at the headstock and below saddle : 10298N4

Engine number : 91218, without bore and stroke indications .

Gearbox number : SN 48023 with 4 ratios figures

Can you tell me the year of manufacturing ? Because on carte grise it\'s written 1973 ! Couldn\'t it be 1937 by switching two figures ?

Friendly yours

C.Novel

Hello, I write from Spain. I am about to recover one of the old H 18 used in the Spanish civil war. Do you know if there is any record or file where, through the frame number, I could identify this motorcycle and its trajectory in Spain? Thank you. (A researcher or scholar of the subject would also serve).

Hi Rob,
Just been having a look through your website which has lots of really interesting stuff.
Hope you are keeping well and enjoying life after Fokker.
Should you make a return trip to Duxford, with or without the bike, please let me know and it would be great to meet up.
Best wishes
Neil

Hi,
I am unclear as to where to sign the Guestbook.
I am in the process of assembling a Big 4 WD (ex sidecar drive motor), into a 16H frame. I am utilizing a collection of individual original parts in various mostly well used condition. I am armed with the Spare Parts, and Maintenance and Instruction books, and have a fairly well equipped home workshop. I live in S/W Sydney Australia.
Regards - Geoff Clatworthy
