Professional deception and clever fraudulence are running rampant in mystical claims to experience God. Thus, the signature of Satan is seen in St. John of the Cross, Ignatius Loyola, Madame Guyon, Carl Jung, Richard Foster, and in such as Mother Teresa, Rick Warren, Brian McLaren, Leonard Sweet, Phyllis Tickle, and other deceivers of the Emerging Church movement who transmit this plague. In this illustrated DVD, Richard Bennett and James Sundquist expose the deceitful shams that prevail at the present time. They also explain the scriptural method of biblical meditation and genuinely experiencing God. Please make this DVD known to others, and kindly link to it, if possible. Thank you.

It seems everyone's practicing yoga meditation these days. Physicians recommend it to their patients which means it's beneficial...right? Meditation is said to relieve stress, anxiety, hypertension, acne and post-nasal drip, so go for it! Just tighten those abdominal muscles, inhale deeply and chant Maaaaaaaaa all in one breath and your concerns will drift away like a feather floating on the win........

Thank you Light House Trails for providing such a wonderful site to ask and get answers about our Christian Faith. I have been personally challenging many writers to this site and accepting their invitation to converse further about opinions they express. It is at last count, that only, five people who have had the courage to engage me on at least three occasions. I have never broken off conversation but everyone who has either contacted me or responded to my contacting them has called it quits due to their difficulty in defending their stand. The Truth always wins out. To any contemplative/emergent/mystic/new ager who reads this entry I invite you to contact me for some very Spirited conversation instead of trying out your philosophy on True Christians who frequent this site to share our love for the Lord the way He wants us to. CEMNA folks and everyone else please read the following;
Amos 8:11-14, Romans 1:18, 2Thessalonians 2:9-12 These verses point out the following;
Those who perish do so because they do not receive-in the sense of "welcome"-the love of the truth. Because they do not, God will send them strong delusion, so that they will believe the lie and be condemned. In reality, God is just giving them what they desire anyway. They prefer carnal delusion to spiritual reality, so God obliges them. The unrighteous in Romans 1 desire a world view without a creator so they can be sexually liberated. God gives them over to it and lets them reap the awful consequences. The Israelites in the time of Amos did not value God's truth, so He removed it, letting them experience how miserably they fare without it. If they were anything like modern Israelites, they thought of themselves as enlightened and progressive even as their blindness became more complete. Read these words and be blessed. Mark

Your whole approach reminds me of the 1950s and beyond when certain fundamentalist "police" wanted the world to know how radical, extreme, ecumenical and dangerous Billy Graham was. What good does it do to list places like Taylor, Houghton, Cedarville etc. as dangerous places. We are many who serve at this amazing places in God's Kingdom. We are place of learning and in contact with all that is happening in our culture. We are not cloisters and monestaries of evangelical safety. Why not pray and work with us, but leave the attackes and smears to our true ememies. We have a world to win and forces like Islam etc. to confront. I am tired of evangelical (or maybe you don't like that name) sisters and brothers smearing and attacking us.

Your site makes me very sad. I doubt you will publish this comment as it looks like you only publish those comments from people who support you. I attended one of the schools on your list of "Christian Colleges that Promote Contemplative(i.e., Spiritual Formation)."

I am extremely grateful that God provided me with that educational experience. He used this school to allow me to think about the issues in the world and to hear from people that I might disagree with rather than shielding me from them. In short, they allowed God to be God and not to try to play God by dictating what I could or could not read and who I can and cannot listen to.

I get the feeling that your organization is more interested in dragging other believers through the mud than to doing the hard work of confronting what you see as spiritual dangers in a personal manner.

Does not Paul say that when there is a disagreement, it should start inter-personally?

With the time and money you spend on your efforts to defame Christian colleges, I wonder if it could be better sent fulfilling the great commission.

John 13:35 (King James Version)
35By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.

I don't sense love on your site and it grieves me. You will probably assume that my comment puts me in the camp of the hell-bound or backsliding instead of listening to my concerns and engaging with me in conversation.

I believe that Ken Blanchard is more than a New Age
sympathizer. He speaks at "The Law of Attraction"
seminars with people like John Gray and other New Agers. He has also written a book with another man on The Law of Attraction in Business. I found it on Amazon. I also don't believe that Ken Blanchard's "Lead Like Jesus" programs refer to the Jesus that you and I believe in, but rather another Jesus such as the Jesus who dictated The Course in Miracles.

Did you know that Awana has added Ken Blanchard to their prison program? I found it right on the Awana website. This was one of my complaints about Awana when I presented my dissertation on the New Age Spirituality to my church in Colorado Springs, CO. Of course, the pastors thought I was being divisive even though I went only to leadership. I presented my materials in a biblical and loving manner, but was told I had a witch hunt attitude. I have since left that church and have been unable to find another in this town that doesn't incorporate something either emergent or contemplative. Unbelievable!

Thank you for your continued updates on the apostasy in the church today. I realize that there is nothing new under the sun, but it's alarming how so many people have just fallen into line, trusting their pastors and not questioning or doing any research. It's also discouraging to see Chuck Smith, who was my pastor in the 70's and 80's, say that Rick Warren is a friend and brother in the Lord. I have not been able to listen to him online since that incident last summer at the Harvest Crusade.

Blessings, B.R.

I thank The Lord for bringing me to your site. You have helped to me to see the heresy and great apostasy going on in the churches of the day.. While I see many don't want to see the seriousness of this great deception, I see my friends. When I first came on your site I was overwhelmed by how large the contemplaticve/emergent movement is. I have been right along side of you exposing the darkenss..as well as reposting many of your issues on my FB page.

Currently reading Roger Oaklands "Faith Undone" as well as purchased his DVD's on the Emerging Church. The sad and scary things I see are Christians being happy and content to live in their little Christian bubbles all comfy and cozy..WE NEED TO WAKE UP!!!

I am shocked to see how many Pastors are sharing platforms and quoting books that are emergent and New Age. I am sure that at times you are all seen and spoke of as being negative and judging..Since I have been sharing I have come under attack as well by other Christians. But the gift of being a "watchman/watchwoman" comes with its attacks..sadly not just from the world but from the body as well that we lovingly try to warn and protect...Well you are all in my prayers and I will continue to support you wonderfully discerned Ministry..

For those readers who are or who may be tempted to sway toward this emergent /contemplative movement ..here is what the LORD has to say about worshipping Him the way nonbelievers worship their false gods: Deut 32:16 The they provoked Him to jeolousy with foreign gods; With abominations they provoked him to anger. They sacrificed to demons, not to God, to gods they did not know, to new gods, new arrivals.

Thanks Lighthouse trails for your faithfulness in warning the church..You all will be in my continued prayers...Your Sister in Christ Trina

I am presently "unchurched" because of the heresies I am finding have been invited into Bible believing churches in my area.

When the mind-numbing, repetition of Maranatha type choruses began to replace thoughtful, Holy Spirit inspired hymns, I was saddened and made very uncomfortable. Along with that, we had to have "worship teams" to "lead us" in how to worship (rather than a spontaneous lifting of my hands in worship, I was admonished when to lift my hands, or clap).

Then we had to "Purpose Driven Church/Life" ourselves into what is actually "another gospel" not the Gospel of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. The 40 days of nonsense, which I refused to attend after having perused the book, rolled right into pastors actually validating "The Shack" by inviting the author to speak in church! Now, we have a Sunday school class on the beauties of "The Shack" and how "it helps us understand and relate to the Trinity." As if all of this garbage weren't enough, add to that a class on "Contemplative Prayer."

In my opinion, we are seeing 11 Thessalonians 2:3 come to pass in a big way. "Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition..."

What amazes me is that supposed Born Again, Bible believing, Spirit Filled pastors are falling prey to these heresies. How in the world can that be? I am not, of course, a pastor, but I am Born Again, Bible believing and Spirit filled. I am also a Bible reading Christian - daily - and the Lord is very faithful to "teach me all things." He shows me through His Word what to accept and what not to accept or allow into my life.

Again, how can it be that pastors, such as Dr. David Jeremiah, who used to "rightly divide the word of truth," fall for such obviously heretical beliefs? I am astounded.

We must stay emmersed in the Word of God, the Bible, being sure to be careful to study the real Bible, not some paraphrase, i.e. "The Message" which tells us Jesus came to "help" the world instead of that, "the world through Him might be SAVED." Big difference there...

As we, led by the Holy Spirit, work to lead others to Jesus Christ, we must be very, very careful to alert them to what is going on. Help them choose an excellent translation of God's Word. I use the King James Version myself, but there are others, such as "The New Living Bible," which stay true, in my opinion, to the Gospel of Jesus Christ from Old through New Testaments.

Staying in the Word of God daily, using it as the one and only yardstick by which all else is measured, and in thoughtful, meaningful prayer (not "vain repetition"), remaing sensitive to the Holy Spirit convicting us of sin and surrendered to the precious will of God, we will walk in victory and stay safe from the wiles of Satan. These REALLY ARE the very last days.

Thank you SO MUCH for your ministry and putting the information out about what Satan is doing in our churches. It is very helpful to know who is going the route of universalism. I will not listen to or support anyone who has succumbed to heresey of any kind.

Kathleen McKeithen

To the point. Jesus did talk of alternative lifestyles, as he comments,"that He which made them at the beginning made them male and female,"Matthew 19:4 Why reiterate what has been spoken? He that reads it let him understand. You have Moses and the prophets; for the children imitate the parents, etc, "for the statutes of Omri are kept" (In response to the Lanagan exercise) having never read the book: Sincerely, JMP

Dear Guestbook Readers, In the latest issue of "Critical Issues Commentary" the author(Bob DeWaay-Senior Pastor at Twin City Fellowship in Minneapolis, Minnesota) concludes an article about Church Vision with the following statement; "Dear readers, I write about this to comfort you. You are not "mean and ornery, wolves , leaders from hell," or any such thing because you want the gospel preached and tha Bible taught. You are not selfish for desiring what every true Christian desires. I know that many of you have a hard time finding a church. The reason for that is the church growth movement in convincing pastors to "transition." When every Bible church in town has been converted to "doing church for the unchurched" there is no church that is there because God added added people to it through conversion and the church leadership feeds those people the pure milk of the word. Nevertheless, seek the remnant and gather with them. Practice what the early church did in Acts 2:42, in a home if necessary, Jesus promised to build His church, and His church is not about "doing church for the unchurched." It is about gathering His sheep and feeding them. The Lord loves His flock and promises to watch them as the Good Shepherd who lays down His life for the sheep. Human shepherds may let you down, but the Lord will not." Guestbook readers, I am requesting your response to the questions, "What are you finding in your communities? Is there a church of the remnants? Solid home church network? Are you basically un-churched at this time? Do you in any way fellowship with other true believers?" Please dear readers help me with this request. Post your comments here on the Guestbook or email me personally. Thank you and God bless you.

Isn't it possible to participate in the activities of this movement without negative results? It seems to me that as long people are seeking God they will hear from Him. And isn't that a good thing? My church does not practice this type of spirituality and I just started hearing about it from other christians outside of my fellowship circles.

I would very much value some feed back on this other than what I have been hearing because I have been hearing reports from members of a small and new fellowship in the St. charles area made up mostly of young people who practice Lecto Divnia in their Sunday morning service instead of having a sermon from a pastor. The people of the body come up one at a time to the mic and share what God showed them during the activities of this practice and the collected sharing is considered the message that God wanted for His people that morning. The leadership of this fellowship has been practicing contemplative prayer for quite sometime now and has been going down to Ava, Mo. to the Tapist Monastery for the last few years for regular person retreats. There is a contemplative prayer group in this church made up of married couples where in the men and woman practice this type of prayer in separate rooms and come together to share how God has spoken to each group in their time of quite prayer. The men of the church now also go down to the Trapist monastery together as a group to practice this type of prayer. Some of the women in the church are reading "Imitation of christ" by Thomas a'Kempit as have been giving good reports on the change it is making in their lives.

Are you saying that maybe this starts out with good results but later takes the church in a direction that maybe was not intended.

I would like to repeat my request for those of you who might know a lot more about this than me to please email me and tell my why I shouldn't go and join that fellowship. It seems to me that that is were God is working and moving in the hearts of His people.

Jim,

I Cor. 2:9-10

I am really blessed by your web site. I ordered your Exposing the Quantum Lie DVD set and it was a real I opener. I've never been involved in the New Age but it is of great concern how it is slowly creeping into the Church.

Many Pastors today think that they need to make the Gospel more attractive by some sort of gimmick or formula or introducing some sort of practice they read about. These people do not understand that the Gospel can never be made attractive to man's standards. That's why the Bible says to the worldly people it is foolishness.

In South Africa unfortunately the same trend is followed and The Shack is also a best seller in so called Christian book stores and people get very annoyed if you try and warn them about the deception.
May God bless your ministry richly.

I have read most of the contemplative authors which this website denounces and have (despite my initial skepticism) found that it doesn't lead to the formless, spineless relativism of which you warn.

In fact my contemplative practice (supported by my spiritual mentor who is much older, wiser, and more loving than I am) has lead to freedom from sexual addiction (which all the conservative, fundamentalist spiritual mentors never could help with...somehow it always just lead to masking behavior, but not addressing root causes). Also, as I've practiced contemplation, I've become much less anxious, and much more able to love my enemies (isn't this the stuff that Jesus was expecting from his followers??). Simply said, I've never felt closer to God before, and at the same time, I don't feel upset that this website can't understand that and will, in fear, assume I've become a heretic.

I understand now, that in God's own time, God will reveal Godself to all who overcome their fear, and keep pressing towards God's heart of love.

Peace and Grace to all.

Hey there, I was very interested to find your site. I was searching out some ideas on a theological concept that I heard and was pleased to find it addressed on your site. Unfortunately I was disappointed as the concept was rejected and treated as if it was wrong with no real substance. Simply a judgement call. Unfortunately this make you look like just another hate site which the internet already has enough of (oh, except that you sell books as well).
I'm still undecided about the concept (which I will obviously look elsewhere for more information on) but would request that instead of forming lists of rejected people and/or groups that you articulate why. Thanks. Blessings

God is love and there is no fear in love and you are all about fear. Inward contemplation is the only way to eternal life and to communion with God the real God, not the one that's up in your supposed heaven. I have experienced God, I am that, He is in me and through my heart he speaks to me and shows me the Truth and confirms it over and over again. Advaita is the only way to peace and happiness in this life and beyond.

My book "The Revelation of King Arthur" has been released. I do not know who the Antichrist is or will be. I do believe from connecting the dots of History, Scripture, and Myth, he will be presented as a revived King Arthur 'the once and future king'. Publisher is WinePress and it has recieved a 5 star review from Amazon Books.
