"Like a Rolling Stone" - Jimi Hendrix, Eric Oxendine, B.B. King, Mitch Mitchell, Al Kooper

This has to be the most wonderful laid back version of Jimi's cover of his hero Bob Dylan's song. I'm not convinced BB King plays on it.

Actually, i love every different way Jimi did this song and some of the many different ways Bob did it too ... the Isle of Wight rendition blew my mind yet again.

Thanks Bob and Jimi - your incredible music set my emotions on fire and the flames still burn bright!

Well, youtube's blocked the I.O.W. performance but here Bob played it in Manchester, May 17th 1966.
It's when the heckler shouts 'Judas!' and Bob says to the guy 'I don´t believe you. You are a liar.' and then to the Band 'PLAY IT FUCKING LOUD!!'

Originally, this concert was bootlegged and wrongly labelled 'Live at the Royal Albert Hall, 1966.'

If anyone thinks it, I'd be the first to agree that Uncle Bob was sliding down a slippery slope with his live shows in the 90's and into the new century - Dylan sounded like a cat with compromised adenoids being strangled by a monkey. So, it's been good to hear him reinventing his voice to be very listenable again recently. Gawd bless yer Sir Bob, Yer Honour.
